pandah

^ it looks good either way i mean some things could be changed...like the chest looks a little too slanted that it doesnt look right. and the arm leading into the armpit looks a little weird. but good drawing :3
hell_hound7
if you were trying to draw yourself and were like doing your chest area i feel like it should be more rounded

I see, I see. I don't think there's anything wrong with using the overall pose as reference. Though I have seen a person get angry over someone using a pose from their drawing as reference. Practice wise, none of this really matters. But officially, I'd just avoid using anyone's art as reference. Or at least not mention that I did. Just to avoid the unneeded discussion. Overall, you can be right all you want, but if there's enough people that disagrees then that just hurts your credibility as an artist anyway. And no one likes when that happens.

Well this is over a year old and my skills have improved but i just wanted to state my point because its wrong to accuse someone of plagiarism when they're not. Also i searched the picture up and there is no claimed artist and it was only comming from websites like pintrest
hoodedfang
I'm well aware of all that. I was just stating what I've seen in regards to this matter.
pandah
I guess but it's still not right

Dont worry about it man or girl. there will always be that one person. in my opinion, anything thats uploaded to the internet and that isnt watermarked, is fair game. its there own fault for making their artwork public. Your doing nothing wrong, everyones free to draw whatever they want. Hell its not like your selling it or anything. some ppl just need to chill lol. and again ppl on devian art, are stupid if they dont watermark their artwork before uploaded it for the world. also, Nice free hand skills' (:, if only i could draw that well Haha.

It's almost hilarious how quickly a request for critiques on the art became a discussion about right v. wrong in terms of intellectual property and copyright. I honestly gotta hand it to Impalpable Panda for his/her coloring skills. As a person who usually leans towards only black and white sketches I enjoy seeing a nicely done color drawing now and then and this was definitely done well. Honestly just draw, trace, reference, or free hand whatever you want. No need to worry as long as you're not claiming other people's work. If there was a "right" way to do art it wouldn't be art.
