I'm not going to tell you that it is easy. It is not, believe me, i understand. BUT day by day you can lean more. The only thing I can tell you is how I overcome it. I simply started working as a waiter. I was shy at first and anxious but the more things I learn the more confident I am. Learning I guess is the key, find something that you're more intersted at. Good luck!

It's cool. Depends on you if you want to speak up or not. I'm the same way. Usually girls approach me so I get it easier in that respect but it's difficult for me to really take interest in conversations and I get a lot of flack for that. Girls think I am either boring or just disengaged. But, same with my compatriots. They usually come up to me and It's easier to form bonds with guy friends but even then we always have diametrically opposite interests. I'm at a point in my life where I have no choice but to interact but there is nothing wrong with not getting the words out. Since I'm like that I think it's attractive in the sense that I can relate. Think of it as a rare quality that makes you unique; that's really all it is anyway.

I am EXACTLY the same way, I can never seem to find the right words and most things i say i instantly regret for no reason so I'm pretty silent most of the time. All the time actually.

Unfortunately i cant empathize because i have an outgoing personally and very amiable, but if people annoy me i like to play the social awkward card so i can be alone, on the other hand lots of my friends have that problem or started that way, because i like helping people change a bit in a good way, helping those who want to be more open and outgoing or just need friends, just ask my ex xD she was emo, social akward and quiet now she is more friendly towards strangers sometimes wont shutup lol, i was glad to help her take the first steps.

*high five* It's normal for otakus to be socially awkward. I have been socially awkward for basically my whole life and I am loving it.

For me imagination has been my ultimate booster. I grew up in a bad part of town was chubby and a different race than the majority. Solid Snake, Chow yun fat, jubei from ninja scroll, Bruce Lee, jim carey, goku and jackie chan helped me get over my own awkwardness. I Watched all these dudes as a kid and by a teenager was introduced to sonny chiba. By taking the sidekicks( yes the chuck norris jonathan brandis movie) approach it really worked for me. By Thinking what would chow yun fat do in this situation, or would bruce lee be bothered by this? I wasn't like i was taking on the personality of one character, i would adapt by situation. Example if i was at school and had to present a report. boom in solid snake mode. this was the task at hand, complete the mission. Or if i was put in a group setting and didnt want to die of awkwardness ace ventura or mask impressions. Being yourslf is difficult when you dont know who you are. So try on a couple of characters you like and admire. becuase at the end of the day you relate to who you are. im not sure if this helped or not, but see i have the confidence in myself to put myself out there. lol rant over mission complete
