Robot Combat as a sport

Okay, so as you can guess, this is about the sport of Robot Combat in general. If you don't know what I'm talking about, go here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robot_combat So what are your thoughts on the sport? Do you think it deserves more attention than it has at the moment? Personally, I didn't even know that it existed until I saw the new BattleBots on ABC. But once I heard that it was coming on, I felt like I absolutely had to watch it. And frankly, I don't regret it! I absolutely loved the show, and sincerely hope that they have a 2nd season.
