Hey Matthew! If you like more sad anime or ones with romance, a recent ones that I enjoyed is Plastic Memories. It's about humans bring able to create androids with artificial souls, but their lifespan is short. The MC's job is to retrieve androids who are at the end of their life cycle.

I agree with Neko! I'm actually on episode 8. It has some romance aspects to it but it's mostly about finding what you want to do in life, and dealing with failure. ...plasticmemoriesfirstthough
