I hate "woke" culture.

@arc i see woke culture going two ways, either we all conform and give in. Or peoplw get tired of it and reject everything completely

Every generation has it's "woke culture", it never truly goes away.
hell_hound7
@yaasshat does it really? Cuz imo stuff like the civil rights movement and all that from back in the day was fighting for basic human right. Having a transgender video game character isnt a basic human right, and no one can tell me otherwise. Comparing our "woke" culture to any other generation's woke culture is basically like seeing a gorilla and calling it a chimpanzee.

Funny enough, I hate the counter-culture to "woke culture". I feel like both are equally annoying, since on one end you have people that are constantly trying to be offended on behalf of other people and then on the other hand you have a group that gets triggered by anything seemingly "woke". Posting rants about virtue signaling and how they want nothing to do with a company or something because of a tweet or something that as has a sentiment that they may consider to be "woke" It's really tiring honestly and isn't constructive lol

@gundamu imma defend the side that gets triggered. Alot of time people are just tired of politics being in EVERY. SINGLE. THING. If you wanna enjoy a movie you have always played lets say for instance mulan where they had the dragon in the cartoon but they removed the dragon in the movie cuz it might be "offensive" some people may have loved his character but they removed it. Often times the virtue signaling is invasive and ruins alot of things for fans. Its like taking your favorite waifu saying she is too feminine and sexualized so they give her the body of a 12 year old boy instead in order to pander to those who were offended by her feminine features.

Woke culture is hated for a reason, not simply because people hate progressiveness but because they hate that it comes at the expense of them. Cancelling a comedian for a racist joke they made 12 years ago makes zero sense, especially cuz comedy typically does this alot.

My issue is that people seem to have created a very loose definition of what a political statement and "virtue signaling" is when it comes to media. Just comes off these days like literally anything relating to things that are going in the real world is "political". Yeah, I get it, no one likes having values shoved down their throat. Which is ironically why I dislike the people that get so triggered by this type of stuff along with the "woke" types. I don't want values shoved onto me no matter what the context is. I don't care to hear about how someone is racist about some joke that was made 12 years ago and I also don't care to hear about people complaining about the fact that the woke leftists are ruining their favorite media or whatever and how I should also be pissed off because "wokeness" is ruining literally everything. That's my whole point honestly, it's just ridiculous lol
