profile truths and pics

Why is it that so many people lie about there profile info. Wouldn't it be better just not to say anything at all rather than lying about it. And with pictures to some degree I understand not putting your pics up at least of your self but why put pictures of someone that is not you and try and lie about it and say it is you. I don't know if it's just me but I don't care If someone Wants to not share personal info and pics on the internet. That's understandable, but why lie about it and make up false stories, info, and pics when there not true. I'd rather have someone tell me there not comfortable with sharing that stuff rather than lying about it. IDK about you guys is this just me or do some people feel the same. Idc if I get hate comments or not on this form I just want to know peoples thoughts. And For your information my profile is completely honest, so I have know problem proving it to you as well just ask me. I am looking for a special someone that's has similar interest as me aka anime and I know from experience that a lot of people get intimidate by looks of others in pics but I honestly don't care or judge someone by that I don't care who you are what you've done or how you look as long as your a good person with good quality's Idc.

Since its an dating site i would say fake info is a no go. Be true about yourself. If you dont wanna use your real pic, use an anime pic or something. But not another person. Be honest. People are here for a relationship. Those that isnt idk why, since its an dating site.

People are afraid of being rejected, Some find themselves so unappealing(When really not being nearly as bad as they think), that they have literally no chance with anyone if they are honest and can hide themselves from everyone and fit in if they lie, and have a better looking fake profile pic. Though in reality, they are just being dishonest, and hurting their chances with anyone. Best thing to do is be open and honest to everyone, Doesn't mean you have to tell everyone your life story, but not hide most things. If you are open to at least someone, it can go a long way. Especially since relationships are mostly built on trust.

Some people do it just to be trolls other because they feel like no one would like them for them. Alot of people find themselfs to be unattractive thinking well i cant get a gf/bf it must be true right? I for one think its dumb to put up a pic of someone else...if you've ever seen catfish almost EVERYBODY who does it doesnt get the person they were tricking no one loves a liar...if you can lie about appearance and personality what else can you lie about?

Yea I couldn't agree any more. Its just sad some times to see that there are so many people that have no problem openly lying all the time. I'd rather people just not share fake details, the should just not say anything at all rather than make it up. :(

How many are faking their profile pictures? Btw, some poeple just use this site for social interactions, and not as a dating platform.

Part of the internet is that you're allowed to be whoever you want to be. So long as you don't intend to lead people on/have no intention of meeting someone in person/let them know your picture is fake if they express an interest in you then I see no harm. Some people probably aren't comfortable being themselves online and come on to escape their day to day lives, as I said, if you're not planning on meeting anyone in person then there's no harm in it.
