On a side note lemonpiggy i would probably suggest slowly breaking off contact with your Ex. Your just adding to your hurt cause no matter what you may think there will always still be those lingering feelings for her. But if you feel like you can handle it, i wish you the best.

Got out of an abusive and very unhealthy relationship that lasted 3 years, all i have to say is that as soon as you get back out there- she'll be a bad dream. and honestly... Grieve about it- it helps and think about why it didnt work and accept it, That part of your life is over... Move on and accept that fact, theres always a sexier, lovelier, Kinder girl around the corner, besides- think of this as time to work on yourself and to relax, discover yourself- find out who you really are, ask yourself questions and if need be- cut contact with her, Memories are all you have- respect them and move on and make new ones! better ones! I know exactly how you feel as well. You are going to think about her a lot, for a while. It'll feel like something is missing when you don't have anybody to tell your random thoughts to. But that is life. People come in and out of it all the time. Just look at it as an opportunity to forge a different, better path that would have been impossible otherwise.

you do have negative aspects from this break up, but their should be positive ones too. You have 5years of experience for example, thats not wasted life span. you might think that everything has turned to zero, but zero is an open portal to infinite possibilities.
