Why do people hate gays?

That's such an old topic.. I think there's enough awareness of LGBT... Its up to society how they choose to react to it... just like talic said... ignorance

Ignorance simply means not knowing, it doesn't mean stupid. People seem to be ignorant of ignorance now a days. It's good to discuss. It's not that people aren't aware of the situation, they just haven't taken note of the real issue at hand, equality.

((real opinion from real life gay get ready for it : don't say "the gays"/ etc that's literally like me saying oh I just got done hanging with the blacks..... also we are just ppl that wanna be seen for our personalities, accomplishments, etc not what we do in bed / who we love !!! also if u disagree w any LGBT right issues u are wrong forever + I'm ignoring u + reporting all of ur posts to the cyber police xo))

Sigh~, As a Catholic Conservative, I don't find any minority should be oppressed or discriminated against. People can either choose to ignore or dislike something true, But it doesn't mean it's correct or right. I personally like to always put myself in others shoes, even those I hate, because I prefer to see their viewpoint and how they got to it, I just love to analyze people. Back on topic, I just see it as people being people, I mean one of my gf's best friends is gay, Nothing wrong with sexuality. Everyone has one, even if it just means they don't have attraction. You can get married without the church, So no problem there. Should the church deny gay people? I believe not. The bible's been translated atleast like 12 times and is over 2 thousand years old, Who knows what the original contents in it were, because it most definitely isn't now. I just know one of the main teachings is to love your neighbor, Treat everyone with respect, and help others. Not hate them for something they cannot control, It completely contradicts it's most basic teachings. A person, as long as it doesn't hurt anyone, should be able to do as they please. We have the freedom to be awful(not saying they should be but~ the freedom is there), People dislike Gay's alot sadly from negative teachings from religious parents, Traditionalists, and just plain bullies. It's a minority, The Majority will almost always demean the minority. it's pack mind instinct that's been around for longer than humanity has. It's our higher thinking and mental ability that allows us to break from this mold. Though it will never be gone forever because it's instinct that was built in us. But it's better to try and fail than never try at all. “Better to die fighting for freedom then be a prisoner all the days of your life.” “Those who deny freedom to others, deserve it not for themselves” My two cents.
