valid points. we are all weird. I know I don't fit social norms, the people around me fit them even less, but say they fit in. I guess I should see the fun in it. I guess I just call things weird when they make no sense to me. Waking up a sleeping person to gossip is rude and weird in my book. Yet people do it to me all the time. Not sure why. I hate it. While the fact I have a catapult in my desk drawer is normal, but I know it's not for everyone.
But seriously, have any of you guys thought that what people consider normal is weird?
Example, I am 29 single and had two dates in my life. I am not normal in this case. As according to everyone whom I talk to (and I get told this everyday to the point where I will start acting out), by my age one is married with kids and a stable job. If not that, they have a lover or multiple lovers by this time.

"by my age one is married with kids and a stable job. If not that, they have a lover or multiple lovers by this time."
So either doing something mediocre/boring/common or polygamy??
Tell them "2D is life, so your opinion is invalid."
Or "Sorry, but I prefer a more colorful life than grey cubicles..."
Or even yet, "You jelly that I'm enjoying my life more, aren't you?"
Eh, doing the common thing, find love, get job, make kids, doing the same thing day in and out, ain't my thing, I'd end up dying of boredom... I'd rather enjoy anime and my waifus, which is much more exciting to me. No one else can live your life, so they need to shut the fuck up, 'cause they aren't you, and should focus on what they do.

who said people who watch anime aren't normal? Sure, it's not as popular as watching sports, but look at the Marvel Movies. Things that seemed nerdy 20 years ago are becoming more popular. People don't hate anime- at least, most don't. People don't like a small percentage of fans.

You should come to my town. My town has like no anime anything. if you watch you are 'abnormal'. I get even more people griping about how weird I am for not liking sports. Though they are amused at my one comment about football (the ones I really don't get) which is "If I want to watch a bunch of sweaty guys ram into each other, I will watch a gay porno. At least then I would know what the hell they are doing." Which is even funnier because I don't deal with porn.
But your points of view are great.

Ah, to be normal. Normality is like sanity to me. I don't believe in it. We all have quirks that make us "different" as it were, but somehow we (or most) manage to function in socially acceptable ways. What is normal anyways? A statistic that says most do this or that? Here's the thing, most are sheep, even us who claim to be unique want to fit in within a certain group. We strive for group acceptance by nature as a social species. Normality is what you make of reality by finding others who are of like mind. Not all will like or accept you, but who cares? To quote Dr.Seuss, "Be who you are and say what you feel. Because, those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.".
