What are your thoughts about suicide?

otakujt
It's as the title says. What are your thoughts on suicide? Here's mine: "Look at the bright side is suicide" ~Kurt Cobain "Suicide is painless." -Marilyn Manson Honestly, suicide sucks for the people that loved that person. But if there's no other way out, what else can you do? I hate to say it, but suicide isn't the worst thing someone can do before they die. Life is a bundle of good and bad. It depends on how much bad you can take until you can't take it anymore. Basically saying, suicide is the option to take when you can't take anymore. But there are alternatives to suicide. Like therapy, cutting, etc. Or if you still believe in love (you lovey mfers), find the person you aimed to get, confess love and be happy with that person (if they accept you, that is).

As a Catholic and former depressed person, I do not believe in suicide. I believe it is a grave sin in the eyes of God and a slap in the face to your family and friends. You have a life, living is a blessing. Suicide is selfish.

It's cowardly. Thats what I think of it.

I see it as this suicide should never be the option but unfortunately it is. just something the people who loved that person has to live with...how is it selfish when that person was pushed to that point and no one decided to help but EVERYBODY starts to feel bad after the deed is done

Blah, I've been very depressed before... it's a horrible feeling. I can see how some people get to the point where they feel like everything is hopeless and want to commit suicide. I don't think it's the right thing but it's easy for some people slip into. If anyone ever says they're considering it I take it pretty seriously, they might not necessarily want to die but their mind is very clouded and they don't see any option. Just got to try to make them see the bright side, suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem.

Your body will commit suicide once it gets old enough. You just have to be patient.

It's a permanent solution to a temporary problem.

Suicide is not EVER the only option. I personally do not believe it is cowardly in any way at all, simply a bad choice and a bit selfish. Having been there and done that, I can tell you people contemplating suicide are definitely only thinking about their own situation. But it's hard to describe those feelings to someone who hasn't really felt them before... suffice it to say it's one of the most miserable places you will ever be in your entire life, up to the point where you actually decide it's something you want to do, at which point you may actually feel relieved and even happy. That fact should tell you just how serious of a situation someone can be in to where they are legitimately relieved NOT to have to live anymore. The problem with the idea that suicide is your only option though, is that it's just illogical and, again, hurtful to those around you. The only one who can give your life meaning is you. If God is your reason for living, that's your choice. If music is your reason for living, that is again your choice. Only you can change your perception and find that one, wonderful thing that you love and are willing to live for. Why commit suicide when there are so many of these things available to you? And like richaadokun said, even though it's been said many times, suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. To anyone contemplating suicide, I would say I GUARANTEE time will solve your issues. You just have to keep pushing. I had to deal with the worst time of my life for about 3 years and came so close to the edge so many times I felt like I was in a constant freefall. But I've learned to cope with those feelings in my own way as I've gotten older, and it is definitely worth it!

I don't understand suicide, I don't understand the feelings that come with it. I don't get why someone would be so self-centered to only focus in their situation instead of the situations someone else is living through. I don't get why they amplify bad things in their head just to find excuses to hurt themselves. I was on many hard situations in the past, did I think about suicide? I did but I also thought about other options because executing suicide wasn't something I could do after all. I learnt to love me and if something was hurting me do you think I would let it be and just erase my existence for it? No, I destroy, forgot and pass over things that hurt me. I'm merciless I don't believe in that cowardly shit. I have people I want to protect. Even the loneliest person has someone to protect or someone who loves them. I don't care what anyone says, suicide is stupid. Is just selfish and cowardly useless. I'm strong person myself, that's why I can't get it. It is irrational.

Suicide is the highest level of depression. As a person who actually went through the real depressions, I can say... suicide isn't when person kills himself. It's when life itself kills the person. Person who committed suicide was broken for some reason, and as you may know, killing yourself isn't easy at all. It's something impossible for someone who has a little bit of hope, the rest of the instinct of self-preservation. So imagine how has to feel someone who is able to do it... I have a respect towards people killed by life itself. Because they went through unimaginable pain and fight with themselves.
