Was wondering if anyone has a character in anime they had as a role model that they try to emulate in their life. Mine is Piccolo from dbz and dbgt. (Not original dragonball where he's the bad guy >___<) He started off as a bad guy but slowly changed his ways and became a selfless hero. I remember crying watching the episode in dbgt when he died and I always look back to what he said to Gohan before dying, "Sometimes we have to look beyond what we want and do what's right". That really stuck with me.

What a nice coincidence, my role model is also from the Dragon Ball series. I’ve always looked up to Vegeta because to me, he was the character who developed the most. He’s independent and grew stronger with his own strength, unlike Goku who had training from Master Roshi and King Kai. Vegeta had a goal to be the strongest, to defeat Goku, and the fact that during the Buu saga, he admits that Goku was the strongest brought me to tears. He started off as the stubborn and arrogant prince, but by the end of Dragon Ball Z, he was so much more than that. Though it took the entire Z series, I was so happy he was finally able to become a good person. His strength, his endurance, his change; that has always motivated me in life and will continue doing so.

Ah i have so many, some of my favorites have to be kenshin himura and hajime saito from rurouni kenshin, Kamina from gurren lagann, Yusuke from yu yu hakusho. Goku and vegita from dragonballz. Ouma Shu from guilty crown. Naruto from naruto. Ichigo from bleach. Spike from cowboy bebop. Kiba from wolfs reign. Vash from trigun. Renton and holland from eureka seven.
And those are just a few that come to mind off the top of my head. I have a thing for main characters who start out either weak or dont seem very dependable, some that seem to want to do it all alone or just be left alone, and those who try to hold it all in, and as the story advances they also advance be it in character, strength, courage, ideals, goals, and growth.
U come to see them go from something so very small and simple and they become larger than life and become the thing that saves the world. They follow their dreams, set almost impossible goals, go through literal and metaphoric hells, and yet in the end always prevail. Its inspiring to me and helped make me wanna strive to be like that in life and its made me the kind of guy i am today ^^

Grand Teacher Onizuka.
Because who else could be a pedophile, delinquent, and middle school teacher at the same time?

I would have to say Olivier Armstrong from FMA:B and Balalaika from Black Lagoon. Both are extremely intelligent business women and are very strong willed. Aside from the immoral acts they have committed to reach their goals, I have the utmost respect for them. As the slightly shy and timid girl I am, I admire how they are forceful to others in a way that commands both fear and respect, depending on what side you are on ;)

There are so many where to start. I know I'll start with my first and greatest role model it's Kenshin of course. He has a drak shady past but he is trying to make it right. he fights for the weak and the ones he loves and is a all around nice guy. He taught me to be happy and fight for what you stand for and those around you who can't fight for them selves. He also taught me never let your past decide your future and if you really want something want a change you can do it with the help of those around you.
second would be Simon (Gurren Lagann). Where Kamina seemed like the driving force and even the main character at first and thought without Kamina Simon wouldn't have realized his full potential Simon was the one that drove Kamina and it was ultimately his drill that pierced the heavens and saved the spiral races. He taught me to keep on digging no matter what because eventually I shall also pierce the heavens with my drill or should I say my pencil/voice (because I draw and sing) in better words get my dreams.
