Wait, San Antonio "doesn't have very many anime fans"? Did you just arrive there? There are two anime cons out each year: San Japan (http://www.san-japan.org/) and Mizuumi-Con (http://www.mizuumicon.org/). Check out Dragon's Lair at 7959 Fredericksburg Rd., a few of the employees should have info on anime groups in the area. There has always been one or two around the city. They would run for a while, fall apart then reorganize as something new again. And welcome to MO!
