What would you get your mom for her birthday?

So my mother's birthday is on Sunday and the gift I totally planned to give her ended up being something she secretly dislikes. I didn't have a back up plan

A brand handbag ... louis vuitton you probably won't go wrong with that but they are expensive ... So if you are going for something regular ... try perfume, just know what type she uses and/or likes. If still not up your alley ... hand creams, body lotions, skin care products. Those tend to be the easiest to use to make them happy without the need to know anything about them. If broke ... chocolates and do some origami ... it will be original and appreciated most times. But in reality it all depends on your moms personal tastes.

I used to write poems and they usually brought tears and hugs. Although, i suppose that could've been disappointment disguised as appreciation... I find that things that truly come from the heart work best, words or things.

Hmmm for my mother's last birthday.. I actually got her Microsoft Office. But I swear she really wanted Microsoft Office! I tried to get her something else and explain libre office or open office would work fine but she wouldn't have it.

I usually treat my mom to dinner and a cake, either home made or store bought depending on how busy/lazy I am. Haha my mom's birthday is really the only one my family celebrates since my dad and I don't really care :p
