Lolita Fashion

Yeah, most Lolitas just want to look pretty, not for anyone, but for themselves. It feels good to dress up and it's fun. Just like Cosplay or playing dress up. :3 There's many types of "Lolita fashion", so you have Gothic Lolita, EGL(elegant gothic lolita), Punk Lolita, Sweet Lolita, Wa Lolita(ex: lacey short kimonos), sailor lolita, and there's so many more. XD Oh and Kodona/Ouji/Dandy can be considered Lolita, where you dress like a cute young boy prince/doll.

Young boy is Shouta, isn't it?

Shota is a young boy, like under 12, in anime/manga, but it's not a fashion style.

Ahhh, I thought it was the boy version of Lolita.

Shota is the lolicon version for boys. Like Boku no Pico.

Yeah, Boku no Pico is considered Shotacon. XD (don't look it up unless you're prepared for something disturbing.)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0T6go6EOuG4 I've watched it but really I'm so jaded I didn't find it particularly shocking. But I used to hang out on 4chan lots...

I didn't find it shocking either, but I know some people would be really scared or traumatized. And it'd be really really bad if someone like their parents or a police were in the room and saw you look at it...

Lolicon is not explicitly illegal in the USA. It does fall in the grey area of a bill that was passed a few years ago, so a couple people were prosecuted. But really they can't enforce it seriously because there isn't enough jail space to lock up everyone who happens to have a copy or watch KissXsis, Buku no Pico or the thousands of other titles that depict explicit underage sexuality. Doesn't bother me anyway. It's a drawing. As long as they aren't hurting real kids, I don't care. Yeah, parents would freak, lol.

Lolita fashion is beautiful! It's a shame it's no longer popular as a mainstream fashion choice, but then again it adds to the uniqueness and and idiosyncratic wonder! Aaah why is it so hard for me to dissociate lolita fashion with Alice in Wonderland!? The actual work didn't even have much in it, but then came the dozens of manga interpretations and works influenced by it, each piling more lolita fashion into it than the last! >.< I wonder what it would have been like to live in the Victorian Era where it's was commonplace. I was going to say you girls are lucky you get to wear such cool dresses, but then again, back then you'd need to watch out for things like corsets doing permanent damage to your party (and sadly did bring pain and death to some girls trying to reach a more "perfect" figure, just like today). Was thinking of Jack the Ripper, but now that I think about it, he only killed prostitutes who couldn't afford nice lolita clothing, so would lolita fashion actually ward him off instead? 0_0 I kinda want to dress up in Victorian suits more but I don't know if there's even much of a subculture for it, unlike EGL. http://static.zerochan.net/Count.Cain.full.51999.jpg
