I don't know if anyone has seen this anime movie "Akira" I don't know if anyone had heard the news.But it just happen that they are planning to make an Akira Live action movie.That acteress from Twilight,is going to play Ky.

yeah, the cast is gunna be a total whitewash (which is bizarre conscidering the very japanese names). Akira's themes and imagery were so reliant on Japanese culture, and views on atomic weapons. This'll just end up like the American remake of Godzilla or the Watchmen and V for Vendetta films. Special effects and none of the ideas, depth or intelligence of the source material. So many directors and actors have been given copies of the script, and almost everyone has turned it down over the past few years. Guess somebody had to say yes eventually.

I have the Special Edition of Akira and I must say it is an excellent movie. As for the live action adapation, I hear it's in limbo for the moment;issues with funding keep coming up and acst members come and go. I suppose it's for the best, given what happened with Last Airbender.
