Axis Powers Hetalia: Latvia?

Okay, first post here, yay. So, is anyone else here likes Hetalia, how about we discuss the character Latvia? I began roleplaying him(and the Nyotalia version as well) a few months back, and as with most good Hetalia roleplayers, I looked into the history of Latvia. After actually learning quite a bit about Latvian history and culture, I really did start to love the country, and I hope I can visit it someday...which brings me to what I want to discuss! Who else feels Latvia is poorly portrayed in Hetalia as a trembling coward? I feel there could be such a better way to represent the country, which I try to do when roleplaying the character! So, any opinions on how Latvia is portrayed? c:

I agree with ya there, they could have portrayed Latvia a lot better then they have in Hetalia. In some cases he is spot on for example; when he attempts to please Russia in times and gets easily intimiated. But in most times he acts a little bit too shy and sensitive. If I was able to change the character in the show I would make him a little more old-school and turn him into a little Ivan the Terrible or some insane Baltic leader. I also wished Latvia and Germany had some more banter. :\
