Which is more important, Personality or Looks?

Forgive if I sound vain, but I think looks do play a role in the initial attraction. But once you get to know a person, you see them in a different light, and no matter how they look, you will only see their character.

Personality trump looks to me but one can not exist exclusive of the other. Always try to put your best self forward. No one is or can be perfect.

Personality is definitely more important. There are many cases where you aren't even attracted to the person initially but when you get to know them they become really attractive to you. So yeah. Personality over physical appearance anytime.

I see people saying looks matter a lot with first impressions, and that's true to an extent, but personality on first impression matters just as much. Personality is really, really, really important. Looks can only go so far. Personality is almost everything. Anyhow, I like your idea. Forget 'em if they are annoying bastards like that.

If personality is so important (which it is), I wonder why so many pass up whats considered physically unatractive? I mean, surely if most are being honest here, you'd find someone and not still be looking here...

It's a 60/40 split. If you're ugly, I don't care how nice a person you are, it's not gonna happen. But if you're Mariah Carey minus the money, it's not gonna happen I have always said and made clear that if you're ugly in any form, I'm not fucking with you.

Its a double standard I suppose because someone might not find you attractive even though your looking for someone attractive. Also @yasshat everyone on here isnt looking for someone. But I agree with both I just could honestly care less.

@Yaasshat I think it's because it's usually valued more in society? I actually would rather have a woman that doesn't fit well with the new-age meaning of "beautiful." And, there are plenty reasons why the ones looking here are single aside from that, trolling the forums one realizes this.

Also, sometimes physically unnattractive characteristics "Obesity, unclcean, etc." indicate more of their personality type. Immutable things such as facial characteristics, birthmarks, defects, etc., have absolute no bearing on whether we could be friends, about 2/10ths bearing on whether we could go steady, and with first impressions, I will notice much much more so if you are obnoxious, greedy, dumb, arrogant, etc. than if you have a few pimples and oily skin.
