Not Christian here, but you're not doing anyone a favour by calling us wicked just because we oppose your faith. I'm an ex-Catholic, and I went to several denominations before choosing to be atheist. I also want you to realise the possibility that Emperor Constantine of the Roman Empire could have feasibly fabricated the second half of the Old Testament and entirety of the New Testament. Both he and Joan of Arc showed signs of temporal lobe epilepsy which is known to cause vivid hallucinations, delusions and other things. There's too much contradiction with the ways a kind god would be in the world for me to believe - I choose to instead follow the Buddha, he lived before your "Yeshua" and there is actual support for his existence, meanwhile there's no records from the Roman Empire that have a Yeshua born in Bethelehem, present day Palestinian Authority West Bank

Indeed, Francis does seem to be a lot more about reform than the last few Popes. I commend you for sticking to your faith, also I do have a good friend who is Catholic - I rarely attack the individual person. Also, contemporaneously ( From the time that Yeshua supposedly lived ) the only information is from Paul of Tarsus who says he got it from revelation, not by being there or from any human being. As a scientifically inclined individual I'm reluctant to trust the word of someone who gets things through revelation. Conversely, there are records from the kingdom who Siddhartha Gautama grew up in does have record of a birth matching the records passed orally. Additionally, the Bodhi tree he meditated under has a cutting that still lives in Sri Lanka, and it has been dated and traced back to Nepal and matches the historical evidence. Those are both contemporaneous sources.

I'm a non-denominational Christian; with that said, I do appreciate Christian jokes/satires and the like without getting too emotionally charged. I also do recognize that the Bible/any religious text can be read literally word-for-word or interpreted in many fashions (that's why you've got the Latter-Day Saints, Presbyterian, Wesleyan etc.). Generally, I neither condemn nor attempt to shove a religious article or quote down anyone's throats; everyone has different beliefs and the "my god is better/more powerful than your god" argument only festers more partisan politics and conflict. Some do say I'm more agnostic than a Christian, but if you define a Christian as someone who believes in the identity and presence of Christ, you can sign me up on that.

I was baptized as a cristian when I was a child . Which seems unfer to me now ,that grownups are forsing their own religion on to their children . Before they even understand it.I'm not agaisnt people worshiping, or praying to a greater force. As a matter of fact I feel that I want to suport them. It's just the self righteousness of Cristians,Ateists,Jewish, and all others that I can't stand. You have a God that you worship, OK. You want to tell me about him, sure I'll listen. Want me to come to your gatherings ok no prob.Or if you belive in the teaching of Budha thats cool too , we can talk about that too.Or if you dont belive in any of that it's ok as well. But the moment people start pointing fingers at each other , who is right who is wrong . Calling each others fithy heathens , or religious freacks . It pisses me of.Incidentaly Religions are my favorite topics so fire away.

Meister24: Curious, what made you convert from theistic Buddhism to Christianity? aschthebloody: I actually have little problem with Judaism for the fact that in Judaism 'hell' is not a concept. The teachings of Judaims are rather vague on this, but they have a sort of "cleansing" or "rebirth" where if you lived an immoral life ( Disobeyed the Noahic laws ) then you will be cleansed. It could mean reincarnation, or it could mean a type of purgatory, but in any case it is better than the hell conceptualised by Christians and Muslims. In Buddhism, the only way to stop suffering is to be a good person, but there is much ambiguity to morality, I myself believe there is no clear cut morality at all, instead, I think the choices that lead to less suffering are the 'moral' choices, but that's not just a person-person or person-animal interaction. Some Buddhists aspire to cease rebirth. If that does indeed exist, rebirth, I'd honestly rather keep on rebirthing for now.
