Seeking advice from anyone who has been to Japan.
I was just curious as to which insects I would be likely to run into if travelling to Japan. My main concerns are makade, certain spiders, cockroaches and japanese giant hornets. The places I would be likely to go to are Akihabara and Okinawa. What should I be aware of in those areas?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hmm, well, you get the giant hornets in the summer, but I never really had any encounters. Cockroaches are around, so usual rules apply - don't step on them. You likely won't find any in hotels, but it's possible in the streets. I didn't really see all that many spiders while I was out there. You'll likely see cicadas out there, they are very loud, so you'll know when they're around, not dangerous though. Mosquitoes are a big thing in the hot weather, but I don't think they carry malaria, at least I didn't hear of anyone catching it. I wouldn't really worry about the insects.
