Gifting help: Has anyone watched the Sailor Moon Crystal Box set?

Could use some help everybody. Thinking of getting the Sailor Moon Crystal Box set for a friend but I've seen a lot of negative stuff about it like ghosting images and such. Has anybody actually watched the DVD's and could offer their two cents?
