Would you date an asexual?

talonvoren
Depends really. Can't honestly say one way or another until said situation actually appears.

Too long, didn't read. I would date someone who was asexual though, there is more to life, and to relationships, than just sex.

Just as a side note, most asexuals do have sex. Maybe not so much because they have sexual desire to, but people in general have a large variety of reasons why they have sex that have nothing to do with sexual desire

The two asexuals I've known have no particular intention to ever have sex. But yeah, everyone is different.

No I wouldn`t. At some point the relationship wouldn`t develop. I would like to have some kids, but that would be just me, right? :/

Sure I would date them, but I don't know how things would work. I like intimacy so if they want no part, I am not sure how it would go. I would be kind of interested to find out.

ITT: People who don't understand the distinction between asexuality (the lack of attraction), and sexual abstinence. Edit: To prevent confusion for some of the slower people. If you're in a relationship and your partner doesn't act out sexually, whether with you or alone, they're sexually abstinent. If said person was asexual, they wouldn't be in a relationship in the first place, unless they're using you financially or otherwise.

lol yes. Though can't two people base a relationship on romantic feelings without sex (if one or both are asexual)? Or is romantic feelings based on sexual desires?

Romance is tied to attraction, you can be attracted to a specific gender without the desire to partake in sex. The point is if they feel romantic feelings they're not asexual. They're merely sexually abstinent.

I'd like to say I could but I doubt it. I have the physical desire for it. I'd like a relationship to be much more than that but I don't think it could work without the sexual part. I know it might seem a bit shallow but we all have needs.
