Youkai Watch!!!

I went to Japan and the day I got there I saw all these weird characters in all the stores and Toys r Us that look like Pokemon from far away but it was something else. Turns out it was Youkai Watch and it's EVERYYYWHEREEEEE. Then I think 2 days later I got obsessed with it. Who likes Youkai Watch!? I got a Jibanyan coin/pass bag, Jibanyan plush and my iPad is covered in Youkai Watch stickers.

who likes youkai watch? maybe kids 10 y/o and younger. it's like their new pokemon. crazy x.x I haven't tried watching it but I'm curious as to what it's about. Maybe it's some nurarihyon no mago for kids.

I'm actually a fan of Yokai Watch and even own the 3DS of the game. Anyone can enjoy it because well...its cute. Plus the game is addicting!

It's popular in a game and anime and others in Japan for certain. It's said that they also consider sale at foreign countries. I'm worried whether the meaning of Youkai is transmitted successfully.

I remember seeing this when I went to Okinawa this past New Years. It does seem to be super popular, and it probably was the only thing keeping me sane, to be honest. Because Frozen was also popular, and I cannot stand that song from Frozen, so hearing the Youkai Watch theme play on TV was such a relief. It seems like it might be similar to Pokemon or Digimon, but more aimed at younger people. I only saw one adult who liked it, and that was on TV, so dunno if he was an employee. About 80% or more of my 3DS street passes were from people who played it as their favorite game.
