Just to let you all know, it was rather ironic how awkward I felt trying to write this xD.
Anyways, in a lot of my past relationships, most them I felt pretty awkward being in. I guess because of my personality and the vast things I love and enjoy don't really mix well I guess is the best way to put it. I think I've had maybe two relationships I didn't feel awkward at all when I dated them. The first was a rather long distance relationship and the other was someone I could see practically every day.
So, my question to you all is have you felt or feel that you were/are in an awkward relationship?

I always thought that you would feel most comfortable being around the person you love and pretty much shared your life with. But I do understand where you're coming from with not having similar interests and you feel like a totally noob. When I was with my ex, I was totally lost and felt so weird being around bunch of people that are really into Sci-Fi. What also felt awkward to me is how he tends to always follow behind me when we're at a gathering and he refuses to actually be social and independent :|.

I have no issue with being independent one bit, as for people.. I'm quiet in large groups since I just don't like large amounts of people. I guess it's more of when I get to know more about that person that I feel awkward. Just seemed like the more I got to know them, the bigger gap in difference we were.

Yeah that's the disheartening part of meeting people ):. You think they might be really interesting and they're different from what you expect. Happened to me back in High School when someone had me go up and talk to my crush and to learn he doesn't like anime! Maaaan talk about embarrassing.

Meh... My girlfriend doesn't like anime ( yet...), but I will prevail! Really, only the beginning should be a little awkward. I mean, now its all fair game. Gotta fart? Let 'er rip. Close the bathroom door while doing your business? Pff... As if.;) There are awkward moments... I guess... I just honestly can't remember my last one with or around her.
I guess my awkward moment was a couple of years ago meeting with a woman who I met via a dating site. She was well educated, had a doctorate, had a house and knew nothing of the dork side... Yet we still found common ground and just talked for about four hours. Me being kind of a recluse, was so tense and nervous about every thing i said or did...which probably hindered me. I just started to think that she had to be somewhat nervous meetimg me for the first time too which made me laugh a little inwardly and eased any awkwardness after that.
Awkward things will happen at some point, just don't worry about them.:) We are only human after all.

My awkward moment:
I had a MAJOR crush on this guy when I was in high school. Both of us were orch. dorks, him on cello, myself on violin. We'd exchange glances back ad forth from across the room, wanting to talk, but both of us were too shy(him with s.a.d. and myself with g.a.d., it was hard to talk). We'd flirt through our music, our body language as we'd play our instruments. Eventually, he asked me out but showed no affection. No big deal, he's just shy. It continues throughout the relationship, I think it's my fault he doesn't want to even hold me.
I move across the country, we try long distance. We have separate lives, our times never synched. We grew apart, so I break up with him. We still flirted and he gave me hope that we'd continue where we left off. So stupid me, I move back across the country only to find out....HE'S GAY. And he knew the whole relationship he was gay, but he didn't know how to tell me(understandable). It explained the lack of affection. So I spent 2 years dating a gay guy and I was across the country away from all my family.
The awkwardness between us is still heavy when we see each other, haha
