Otakon

I heard through the grape vine that Otakon is going to be moving from Baltimore MD to Washington DC. I looked into this and found out it is true, does anybody know EXACTLY WHEN it is moving (what year I mean)?

I live in New Jersey. To get to DC, I have to go through Maryland which is 2 maybe 2.5 hours away. DC is only maybe a half hour more from that so for me it would be a 3-3.5 hour drive. The problem is, there is no hotels near the convention center they will relocate to. By the way, I read that hurricane Arthur is going to pound the hell out of North Carolina, you might want to play it safe and get some supplies.

Yup. Booze and BBQ stocked, my friend.'Merica! Really, where I'm at it won't, well shouldn't be so bad. We've had a couple of hellacious thunderstorms so far, but that's about it. It's supposed to be a fairly nice weekend here.

Otakon used to be fun, there was swag in the dealers room and everyone was excited and having fun all the time. I think it got too big thus this move might be a step pushing it too over. I know Anime usa is in and that was a lot more fun then otakon recently.

As alphaomega said, it will be moving in 2017, if all goes as planned. If may happen earlier if the con gets a sudden increase of attendees.

I don't know if it will happen earlier or not. They are still under contract with Baltimore. I guess we'll know come August huh?
