I'm admittedly one that doesn't like smiling for photos. At all. However in real life I tend to laugh and smile or smirk all the time as I'm joking around with people or having good conversation. It's like a form of false advertising, and I know for a fact it doesn't do me any favors. Perhaps it best to just explain it as there being a time and place for everything. You make a scary face when you're mad, not when you're trying to appeal to someone. You make a happy face when something is amusing or pleasing, not when you're about to punch someone's brains out. You make the right face for the occasion. You smile when you want to appeal to someone since it makes you approachable. It sends the right signals.

Don't say that now. We need you to continue loli-ing up the forums! There's no rule that states you can't do both. You don't have to be here all the time, or even every day if you don't want to. You can still better yourself and chat with people here at your leisure. Now if you aren't enjoying the forum, that's another story. But if you've been enjoying your time with the people you know here why not ride it out and see what happens? You just might find your reason for being here.

Well I also offended some people not long after joining, not intending to, but I like to patch things up and make things work where I can and so I tried to do so here as well as I was able. Some may not like me too much, but you can't please everyone. I guess the important thing is what makes you happiest, regardless of anyone else. If making friends on here and socializing while looking for a relationship makes you happy, you should keep on doing it. If you aren't happy here, maybe there are alternatives. If you do go into the navy, maybe you'll find some good buddies there instead. I think everyone has a doubt or suspicion here and there. Sometimes things may seem too good to be true, which can be worrying. Or things may appear to be worse than they actually are. No one likes to be hurt though, so I can understand your concern. Maybe you could try testing the water a little bit, with no emotional investment or expectations. Then whatever happens, happens. In the spirit of the thread, if it makes you smile do it.
