Anyone go to cons solo?

One of my friends went solo once. He volunteered for Oni-con and I had advertised crash space on the forums. He ended up working more shifts and hanging out with us since he was by himself and now he's integrated into our motley group of staffers hahahaha

I go Solo merely because my close friends aren't really into Anime or Gaming. Ideally I would like to go with others and have a good time, but, at the same time I don't mind going it alone - I'm extremely comfortable either way. I would love to travel to some of the bigger conventions around the United States and meet with lots of interesting people so that is currently on my bucket list.

I've been to at least eight con's in my lifetime, so far. And I've went to every one alone. Like it was said above, no friends in anime, force you into going alone. It never bothered me, though. You gotta look out for the creepers though.

Hmm well everytime ive gone alone when i take pics of the ppl cosplaying as someone i like i usaully make a light conversation with them and hang for a bit before meeeting someone new sadly they usually are out of town so can never really meet up after to hang

I've always gone solo. Its kinda nice because I do whatever I want but it'd be nice if I had friends to go with. Would make getting a room easier. So far, I've never had any problems with creepers.

I always wanted to try to go alone but that's often not possible bcs my friends normally want to go to that Con too :/ I think it's rlly great to go alone since you're moving at your pace ~~

I went to Otakon the last two years with friends. By that I mean I rode down and shared a hotel room and then wondered around by myself the entire time. I enjoy it.

I go if I have to, which happen to be quite often. I don't want to miss conventions because it's yearly and the other ones are pretty far. I feel truly happy there but there's those moments when I end up alone and surrounded by groups of friends laughing together. This is when I feel sad and envious. I have otaku friends of Fb but they're not really friends, as we barely talk to each other. I'm thinking of customizing my free hugs sign to add "I'm shy! Please start a conversation with me if you wish!" or something like that. I really wish I'd have more friends close to my region irl and meet up and stuff but for now it's Endure and Survive :/
