The "looking for a relationship" thread

Name: Ruby Age: 18 Occupation: University Student Orientation: Heterosexual Bio: I've never been the best at starting matters like this, but I'll give it a shot anyway. I have been in my fair share of relationship but needless to say they were all met with certain "problems" that follow along the lines of the both of us being incompatible with one another. I have also had experience with online relationships before and with technology how it is I have no problem with them. So I've recently started college, therefore sometimes things can be pretty busy or hectic for me. Academics are a major part of my life and I will likely continue to be in school for a while. When I do have some time I like to watch anime (which I've been doing more of), read manga, work on cosplay, some video games and I have been getting back into practicing my drawing skills. I did have a part-time job which I quit to focus on my studies. I am not fully oblivious to not finding another job. I plan to acquire one in due time. I am overweight, I am excising and perfectly healthy though. Despite my general looks I like to be cute sometimes and other times I can be a bit dominant. There is very little of me that is really submissive unless I'm playing around. I'm pretty open-minded and have friends from every spectrum imaginable. In terms of making friends everyone is welcome. Relationship-wise I would prefer someone who is more serious about a relationship. It would be nice to find someone who doesn't focus on looks as I am a huge proponent of personality and connection. Distance as well does not play a factor for me as long as its in serious thought.

Born in Korea, but grew up in the U.S. I never learned Korean as a child because my mother is deaf. So I learned Sign Language instead. I have 2 cats and a dog. I have a house. I've pretty much been alone the past 8 years or so. I'm also old as shit compared to the majority of the userbase, I think. The end is nigh for me, buddies. Let's talk about my hobbies: I'm not too big into anime. I'll watch maybe one to three shows a season if I watch any at all. This season I'm only interested in One-Punch Man. I like to study language. I'm studying Korean and Japanese. I'm getting pretty good at them and could probably get some sort of certification for Korean as I am now. Japanese still needs some work. I think I'm great at the grammar, it's just remembering the kanji that is the biggest hurdle. I think I know like 700? Sounds like a lot but it's not nearly enough. I'm hoping to make a career change into translation or something. I'm heavily into music. I went to school for music and I used to make a living as a musician and songwriter, but my hate for the industry grew the longer I spent in the business, so I quit. I still love music though and I still love discovering new music from everywhere in the world. I can play 6 different instruments. As far as the things I watch, I like stand-up comedy and martial arts movies, but I'll watch anything that's good. TV shows I watch are things like True Detective, Game of Thrones, Archer, and some others. My favorite show of all time is probably Scrubs. I like to draw & paint. I only do it digitally though, with my computer, Photoshop, and a drawing tablet. It's fun, and I've progressed so much in the past year, but I'm still kinda ass I think. annnnd I also play some video games. Mostly Street Fighter, but I play others sometimes. Usually whatever my friends are playing at the time. Personality-wise, I don't know. I think I'm pretty laid-back. Pretty tolerant. I like to joke around a lot. I don't really care much for issues that don't concern me. Don't really care about world events or social issues. If you're 2tumblr4me I probably won't be interested. I just want to learn, have fun, and improve myself. I like trying new things, but if I don't want to do something, I won't do it without some really persuasive shit.
