The "looking for a relationship" thread

My turn! Hi! My name's Heather. I'm 26, 5'4", with short brown hair and bright blue eyes. I'm a little overweight (working on getting it down, though), and I live just south of Boston, Ma. Oh, and I'm a Pisces. Creativity is my middle name! I love love love anime and manga. My first anime was Pokemon, but that was before I knew what anime was. I was officially brought into the anime world through InuYasha when I was in high school, and my list has grown exponentially since then. I enjoy going to Cons (I've gone to Anime Boston the past 7 years and loved it...want to travel to others cough*Otakon*cough), and I like to cosplay once in a while- I make my own costumes (or try to anyway lol) I'm not much into gaming- unless you count most of the Pokemon RPGs and DDR, but I'm willing to take a chance if someone wants to show me. My choices in music are pretty eclectic. I'm a cowgirl at heart, but I like just about anything- other than rap or heavy metal...I'm just not a fan. I'm an English major, with a Bachelor's Degree in English Lit. I love to write (surprise, surprise), so it's only logical that I'm addicted to Fanfiction. Although I AM working on my own novels/short stories. I also like making AMVs. As of right now, I'm working as a cashier at a supermarket to help pay the bills until I can get my career up and running. I'm looking for friends and (hopefully) a relationship. I'm not as outgoing as I would like to be, (not in person, anyway) but when I get to know someone, it's hard to get me to be quiet! It would be great to find a guy around my age (who hopefully lives nearby) who likes to go beyond the face of anime/manga, and is willing to discuss them in more depth. I'm a firm believer in friendship before romance, and I hope to find someone who feels the same. If you want to know more about me or any interests I have outside of anime, just ask! And f.y.i- I don't smoke or do drugs, but I'll drink on occasion.

I'm Josh. And I've arrived at a strange crossroads. Until almost two years ago, I was in a horrible relationship. It lasted from age 25 to 37. Why I put up with it for so long is beyond me. I think I just gave up and learned to tolerate it, rather than dealing with the drama that kicking the significant other out of my house would bring. Luckily I was able to finally find the courage to put a stop to it. So here I sit now. Am I too old at this point to find anyone with similar interests who'll accept me? Or am I merely looking in the wrong places? To tell the truth, I don't even know where to look anymore, since I've been out of the loop for so long. It would be great to find a woman who's into anime, manga, comics, drawing, board games, cosplay, and video games. But finding someone my age who is into those things is like finding the proverbial needle in the haystack. In fact, its not something I'm really "allowed" to make common knowledge with people of my age group. They just don't seem to get it. And approaching women who do share my interests is often frowned upon, since I'm usually a fair bit older than them, so I try to avoid it. Though I seem to have great conversations with them. At any rate, I hope things will come around one of these days. Until then, I'll just keep enjoying my anime, while trying to enjoy my life. Good luck to you all.

My Name is Kelly :) I live in the Vancouver,Washington/Portland, Oregon area. I am 19 and currently attend Washington State University Vancouver to obtain my Bachelor's in History. Faith: Christian that is a middle school leader for 7th grade girls <3 I am a fairly awkward introvert at first but I really am a bubbly person with those that I am close to. I am super duper terrible at writing these bio things. I am a full time student and work for my dad's custom home building company part time as a secretary. I love reading, baking, roller skating, writing, watching Youtube, enjoying anime and manga and playing video games when I can. I haven't cosplayed much, but I love trying to cosplay and attending cons. I left out a whole lot, so if you have question just ask! I am a rather shy person and dont really open up unless i really get to know the other person/people that I am talking/hanging with. I play quite a few different video games (see profile for more) and read/watch a lot of different kinds of anime/manga (again, profile) I am trying to get back into drawing to try to get my artistic and creative side to start up again so I can start to slowly progress more of my front end part of being a coder (making websites) while also trying to get my creative juices flowing to try my hand at writing again, even if it is just a short story or whatnot. Theres a lot more, but I dont want this to be too long, so shoot me a question, and I will get back! ^^;
