In my opinion, maybe we should just let them be and not make fun of them. They're happy with what they're doing and that's the important thing....

For myself, I never bothered with BMI. It's purely aesthetic and how flat or not flat my stomach is. Whether I'm theoretically fat or not fat based on some arbitrary measurement system is irrelevant to me. I care more about how I look naked or in my favorite clothes. And really, body hair bothers me more than anything. Trying to figure out how to get rid of it as cheaply as possible. I hate shaving and ingrown hairs. At least I don't have a lot, it's mostly just pubic and leg hair I have to get rid of.

I think this should only matter in professional cosplay (like booth modeling or whatever).
Cosplay should be all about f-u-n- craftsmanship and/or look alike with the original character.
As for myself, I'm stingy as fuck and I want to cosplay once I lose weight to spend less on materials lel.

Personally I have no problem with who cosplays what, but if I do cosplay I get into workout mode and attempt to fit the description best I can.
When I look at myself, if I'm not satisfied with what I see I'll work on it. Everyone else got their own thing and it's not up to me to say they aren't doing it right.
Only thing that bothers me with cosplay are the people that throw on pokemon ears and a tight shirt and shorts and say they're a "cute pikachu" and ask how do you like it while flaunting their sweater yams up in the camera. If it's part of the original cosplay then it's all good though, but if they do a personfication or variant of it at least get it related to what you're doing.
So yeah I think other people and weight aren't an issue, but myself I'll do what I can if I'm not happy with what I see feature wise, including weight, height, skin tone, facial features, etc.

I'm like a xxl in asia. It's so sad T-T
BMI is kinda a bad way to measure how fat someone is since it's just your weight and height compared to people in a certain population. Like in the US I'm average, but in Asia I'm overweight probably nearing obese.
But irregardless I think people should dress the way they feel most comfortable.
