LOL Rou you so crazy. Anywho Stella I know it's scary for you to try and cosplay as your favorite character that isn't within your weight range. But at least give it a shot. But who am I to tell you to try, I know I'd chicken out, but that's just me. Like you I'm overweight as well. So know you're not alone on this. Although cosplaying is something I never really tried. But the weight thing and fear or what ppl think I strongly understand.

Last time I cosplayed, I got called wallrace ( I did have tusks, but that's besides the point.;P). Know what I did? Flicked the dumb ass off and continued on my way. Of course, I don't recommend the flicking off part.XD At the end of the day, I had enough fun ( and enough pictures taken...couldn't walk for two minutes without being stopped, now that was annoying.) that I really could've cared less about anothers opinion. The whole point is that you enjoy yourself no matter what another thinks. :)

I always just keep my friends close.
Makes me feel less like people are judgeing me about what im wearing.I also feel more protected against creepers or people who might make rude comments if im with friends. I know that im just there to have fun and if im with the people i like ... i do . :) your friends typically dont judge you.
Though yes you should work on building your confidence. I know i have trouble with it and i try not to have it get to me. Going through experiences like that raises my courage. People with strong confidence usually dont care... im not saying thats your problem just speakin from my own perpsective.
My point is if you want to get over your fears- do it even though your scared! Eventually, if you do it enough you should have the strength. I think attacking th problem head on is the best way to solve it.

Don't let guys like Maverick discourage you. You cosplay whatever the hell you want! If it's out of your body type so what. It absolutely makes me ill when people go up to people and harass cosplayers about cosplaying their body type, especially if they don't have the type of body where they should have grounds to say ANYTHING! Even if they did, they need to get a life and stop trying to make other people miserable.
However, I myself think if you do want to loose weight to cosplay a certain character, it's good motivation. For instance, I want to play Baby 5 sometime soon. She wears a micro-mini and I got a lot of junk-in-the-trunk. D: So having said that, a micro-mini would look terribly awkward without thinning out a lot, so i'm working on getting a better shape for that. >_<
