Sanctuary

I cant remember how many years have past since that day. It was in a world where anything thing could be solved if we prayed. I was a man that only believed in wishing for the things of my desire. Funny thing is that I didn't know that I was only kindling the fire. I pretended that they would come true. But only one wish was granted out of the blue. To live a life that will not end. Walking this earth with an eternity to spend. Trees Black as ash and grass brown as sand. I cant walk anymore; I am tired understand? I saw God's hand come down for his people. Here I lay before his broken steeple. The sky red as blood and the clouds black from the smoke. Most people would hope this was just a bad joke. Many years passed since man was here. hopefully the words of a man that lived for a million years is very clear. Be careful of what you pray for. You don't know what might be behind that closed door.
