What is Love?

To be honest, the word "love" has too many definitions; it's too general a word. I personally see love as a contract that most people will eagerly sign, while nobody bothers to read the fine print that sooner or later, Nip you in the Butt.

"I preach science but I can say that "love is simply a creation of evolution, to ensure reproduction, or even breakit down to chemical atraction" to the cows come home....." I know where you are coming from. I have a BS in Biology and a MS in Paleontology. Know the theory of evolution quite well. Have read extensively in the area of the history and philosophy of science (Have some original outlines if interested). All that said the theory of evolution needs a lot more work. Many are the details not yet filled in or explained. I will affirm that I am a un-apologetic romantic. May you nay-sayers fall in love as punishment!

Well, Ridingcatbus, there is absolutely nothing wrong with being a romantic. I will admit to being a somewhat of a science nerd, and i suppose that is part of the reason I'm an Otaku in the first place. I find "love" easier to understand somewhat when watched in bright colors. Lol.

Love is a greatest feeling of all when everything goes well n worst feeling of all when when everything goes wrong. Thats why am pretty much want to watch drama animes lol

Anybody can love because of something. Because someone is pretty. Because someone is smart. Because someone is rich. Because we've been together since childhood. Because they said they loved me and that really means a lot to me, so that means they only love me and not anyone else, so anyone else says they love them doesn't truly know what love...ANYWAY. Love because is bull. It perpetuates that you even need a reason to fall in love in the first place. It's pretentious and downright selfish to expect something from loving someone. So, what is real love? Love Despite. Despite how plain someone looks. Despite being raised poor or privileged. Despite having a bad sense of priorities. Despite being handicapped. Despite an annoying habit. Despite flip flopping on how someone feels about you because they're not sure how you feel about them. Despite all the flaws, all the problems that someone is facing in their life, you can still bring yourself to love them. I believe like many things, Love is something that is put into different levels. I believe there is Material love, Love, and then True love. Material love pretty much speaks for itself. It refers to loving material possessions, but it can also be described as treating a boyfriend/girlfriend as just a form of enjoyment for yourself. Love is when you feel somewhat connected to another person, and you wanna get closer to them. True Love is the real deal though. This is when you don't want just a friend with benefits, or a whisper in the wind, but when the person you are in love with is the person you know without a doubt is the person you wanna be with for the rest of your life. Also, in my opinion, this is a person you would be willing to give your life up just to know they would be safe. I believe true love can only really come from being in love with someone, and understanding that you are more than just in love with them. I feel it is very unlikely that someone is truly in love from the get go, it is something that has to be developed. Now since everyone has given some sort of quote from an anime that has inspired them, I feel that this quote just is very inspiring to never give up. "Nothing is impossible." - Greed, FMA
