Role-Play "The Haven"

[Yes the scene does change, it's a part of the main post for when you meet the gatekeeper, you are now entering the world that will start to manifest in front of you. Also there should be two travellers ahead of you but I don't remember their distance from your current area.]

[Sorry for being gone so long, have had more than the usual holiday stress to deal with] Settling for company instead of outright having to hire and pay for protection appealed to Thenes minimalistic nature, and he gave a nod of agreement acknowledging Kanbeis statement then proceeded to answer the question asked "I am visiting a colleague of mine, He resides someplace called the forest of the wicked, but alas I am not familiar with these lands at all... hence why I am in the market for a guide and/or guard..." Thenes holds a small pause then awkwardly continues; "...Not that I expect any trouble, no sir, I usually never uhm... cause or find myself at the center of trouble, nope, nu-uh, never-ever, but you know you can never be too careful is that not how the saying goes? I guess you know better than anyone seeing as how you are lugging that huge armour around, thats for protection I'd assume, unless it is a fashion statement of sorts?... (Thenes rants on about nothing for a little while deflecting anymore questions about his purpose in The Haven promtply, obviously dodging the issue)

The night slowly approaching the travelers as they enter The Haven as they travel along the only path that seemed to have manifested in front of them. A reddish hue can be seen across the sky as if someone had taken a giant sword and slashed it along the sky as the clouds slowly thin out over the setting sun. The noise and light from the bar getting slightly louder as the night falls upon it from the people heading out for their nightly drinks to wash away their pasts or just want to have a merry ol'time. Fights breaking out and the sounds of furniture crashing against the floor, being flung out the window, and the sound of the bar-maid yelling for everyone to cut it out as she serves them their cold-beverages can be heard along the path.

In a sudden flash of light, a door sized archway made of sandstone appeared. Within it, a swirling vortex of red fiery energy. From it, a average build man wobbles in. The smell of rum permeates from his black beard and brown long coat. This salty sea dog wasn't drunk however. The shock of being transported to a foreign realm was as much to blame as his "sea legs." "Holy mother of god" he uttered to himself in disbelief. The djinn's magic had done what it was set out to do, but not without a price. His black eyepatch hid his unsightly... "reciept." He slowly made his way towards the gate. His usurped captain's hat nearly falls off as he tilts his head to see how far the walls go. As he reaches the gate, he finally noticed the gatekeeper Luchian, barely visible at night. "I don't suppose you'd be lettin' me in here, would ya?" ...

Turning the pages of his books, his eyes scanning across the pages that he's read over more than a thousand times but still reads as if it's his first time reading through his book. A noise catching his attention from out of the silence, his attention still upon his book until he is needed, slowly turning the page before he hears someone beckon him. "Letting you in?" He says closing his book and gazing upon the man,"What is your business in the world on the other side of this gate?" He says looking at the mans characteristics and apparel. His book held at his side as he stands up straight gazing up the mans eye, as if reading him.

(Sorry, busy with work. and MO, doesn't work on my main comp. for some reason) "Yes, my business, of course." The man began to pace around, further taking in his surroundings. "I deal in the business of dealers and do deals with businessmen alike. Where ever coin can be made, I can be found. From what I can gather, this country could provide a good deal of business for me and the people of this.. land. I am called Lazarus and I am but simple businessman, looking to expand his business ventures." Lazarus moved cautiously toward Luchian "Although, I left my resources behind, I can assure you I plan to put a little coin in EVERYONE'S pockets around here." He emphasized.

Opening up his book once more and sifting through the pages, his eyes scanning through before he comes to an abrupt stop. Placing his index finger on one of the paragraphs and reading along before shutting the book and looking up. "Alright I will grant you passage as long as no harm comes to this world from your 'business'," He states as he lifts up his arm, a badge forming in his palm before Lazarus. "You may enter The Haven, but if anything wrong were to befall this world, I will be hunting you down if you are the cause of it." Slowly leaning back against the wall after he passes the badge off to Lazarus,"You are also required to keep that badge with you at all times if you want to leave and enter The Haven without me having to step in."
