It's Garen Lagan with 50% more fanservice (for both genders) and a sidekick that is akin to Daffy Duck to the protagonist. It's an awesome show, recommend.

I just watched the first episode with friends during our anime night and I have to say I'm impressed. I loved Gurren Lagann and this feels right.

It really is a great anime. I really enjoy the art style and the absurdity of some of the characters and fights. I definitely recommend.
