Oh really? That's some interesting stuff m8. Do you have to be a good artist to make your own games?

Epic Games have the Unreal engine, free to download and use, with a market full of free starter kits and there's official guides, of course to make a good game you do need paid software to make the better quality parts such as characters and environmental props

Are there free software for this? I'm sorry if I sound a bit dumb, but I don't deal with this stuff much. I feel like you need to either pay for the software or a certificate or something.

Nope, once again we've jumped in the deep end, we learnt the software then just said fuck it let's make a big game

One thing I did want to ask you is if you guys have made any app games. B/c I think most thing people think of when they think of game developing and starting out is that most guys would've done some sort of app game or something of the like. I mean I was suddenly going to go down that direction, I'd take a try at something like an app game first.

Yeah, the college helped out loads with getting contacts, hopefully we can get a spot as an indie team at a gaming convention once the games finished

You seem to be going places pal. I respect your passion towards this subject and how you are striving for your dreams! I don't even know how you would get contacts like that except just randomly emailing the production crew or game designers.

That'll be an interesting project to see through. Will you guys have some assistance from experienced professionals or professors? Just kind of winging it by yourself is a bit challenging in my own thoughts. Sounds cool on the Uni stuff. I wish the states had more of a system like that, where you could go to college then go to Uni. Obviously there are but they're not as popular as just going straight to Uni. A few years ago I didn't understand why you guys kept such a distinction on the word "college" and "university" until an old UK bud of mine explained it.

That sounds like a good plan. I don't know if you can have that as a complete side job as I'm sure the proceeds from your first few games may be small. I'm glad to hear you've got things put together, but isn't there a deadline to apply for Uni?
