I am having an impression, or even a stereotype that many people who work as software engineers tend to be otaku or gamer in Japan. Is it the same for the other countries, too? 日本のエンジニアってオタク・ゲーマーが多い印象だけど海外はどうなんだろう

Osaka is kousoku (high speed) talk. As for Dedede's English voice: http://metalgearkingdedede.ytmnd.com/ People in the North notice that I have a country accent, but in my opinion, it sounds buzzy.

日本語を学ぶ前にまず知っておくべきことは何ですか? What is the first thing you need to know before learning japanese?

I see. We most likely think differently, because I am a little autistic. I have photographic memory and sometimes understand the behavior of animals. For English, I might could help you with basic grammar using my autistic traits merits. In Okinawa, the accent sounds rough. But in Kyoto and Tokyo, smooth I heard. My accent in English is Southern USA, but it sounds a little bit buzzy. King Dedede of Hoshi no Kirby fame was given that accent during the English distribution of the Kirby anime.

I passed College English with good grade. And thanks for your ideas, yuzunomura. ^_^ And I heard that some parts of Japan have different accents. Much like USA: http://youtu.be/pWOzuvdZ6J8

meisterman11985 さん thanks! fortunately I didn't screw up with the salts :) BTW i guess you were trying to say "Looking good", the correct word is おいしそうです (oishisou-desu). When an adjective (in this case おいしい oishii meaning tasty) is followed with -そう, (and removed the い at the end) it will be added with "sort of", "seems like" kind of meanings. e.g あつい atsui = hot -> あつそう atsusou = seems/looks hot ねむい nemui = sleepy -> ねむそう nemusou = looks sleepy Good ways to study Japanese, hm... I can't come up with good idea for now, sorry :( But I believe watching an anime with subs is one good training to get used to Japanese, it's worth a go, I guess.
