Well, the original guild wars, the PVE element is all co-operative save for I think.. maybe one or two instances. I enjoyed it a lot, with all of the expansions, there were so many skills to use. Each player chooses their main profession, and a 2nd profession to mix and match skills. You were only allowed to bring 8 with you but you can always change them in town. This made PVP interesting as well because people had to plan their role in Guild vs Guild battles, or team, alliance battles. So much to that game. As for Guild Wars 2 - It lacks a lot of what made the first interesting IMO, but it's still pretty good! From my understanding, you can just buy the game and get all of the expansions - side missions and such - with in game currency. Those are much more expensive than the cash shop stuff but, you really can't beat the fact that there is no Sub required c:

Ps4 I'm currently making progress in Bloodborne and uh.. Darksouls 2 : Scholar of the First sin. PC : Eeeeeeeh I'm attempting to find an MMO that I really like. Honestly, I just went back to the original guild wars and did PvP and then hopped onto GW2 to check it out again. Trying to give it a fair chance. Idk! I've lots of stuff to choose from c:
