Not sure who that guy is, but he sounds like a douchebag. On the topic of Death Note, though, there's this theater that just opened in San Francisco that only does anime and Japanese cinema, and I think they're doing that L movie some time soon. Not sure I'm really that interested in seeing it. Doesn't seem like something that'd adapt very well to live action.

No, they really don't. Probably going to be burnt at the stake for this, but I really can't stand Naruto, Full Metal Alchemist, etc. etc. Just about anything on Adult Swim. The first 16 episodes of Death Note were pretty good, but it all went downhill after they killed off L. Never been to Yaoicon, myself. But I'm not really a big yaoi fan, so I don't think I'm missing too much. lol I actually just moved here from whOregon about a year ago, and I'm definitely liking it better than that shithole. >_<

That would be so neat!! I totally envy them! If I ever got married I would want it to be anime/cosplay themed as well. My only problem would be deciding what character/anime to cosplay as/from...

I will have to start checking out more j-music myself... I love Gackt and his music to death, plus I like a lot of the bands that do anime openings and closings too... like Orange Range, Uverworld, Kokia, Yoko Kanno, Buck-Tick, etc...

Yeah, it seems to be a pretty good con... their forums are full of nice friendly people too, you should check it out. There is a lot of detailed info about some of the events, panels, and guests, etc that will be there. Maybe you should go! ^_^ And Yaoicon sounds like a lot of fun... I also think the 18&^ thing would be pretty nice too. It would certainly eliminate a lot of the bs that goes on with the younger crowd... although there are definitely still some immature ppl over 18 as well. XD

Yeah, I know what you mean! We have a con or two pretty close by, but not near as large as Akon I bet, and definitely not Anime Expo. ^_^ But I think Youmacon had like 4,000 some odd attendees last year, and is expecting even more this year, so that's the next con stop for me. Plus it's not hard to get to; just taking Amtrak all the way up to Michigan. But yeah, it's not cheap to do all that traveling. Although I bet Yaoicon is worth it. XD I loves me some yaoi too...

Cool! I have only been to one con so far, but my next one is coming up in October. That will be Youmacon, in Michigan. I hear it's a really fun one, so I'm pretty excited. How about you? Do you travel far for cons, or do you stay pretty close to home? Being in MO, I pretty much have to travel somewhere to go to any.
