You seriously don't want me to start... I'll just say that they could've made movies worthy of the Resident Evil name by trying to actually fit the story into the Resident Evil universe. They could've easily made an amazing movie series by basing them off of something like the novels. Even the novels that weren't based on one of the games would make a awesome movie. If I were in the same room as Paul W. S. Anderson, there is no guarantee that I could refrain from punching him in the junk. >_<
