Yeah, when you mention 80s dub, I instantly picture Sailor Moon >_< Though I realize it was dubbed a lot more in the 90s..it's funny when a girl screams in the dub version, it's like a monotoned "Nooooooo" (blank face XD) but yeah, I think dubbing has improved a lot over the years..and I noticed it's more common for them to keep the original names in the dub nowadays (lol, in CCS, they changed Tomoyo's name to MADISON of all things XD)

Of course I've seen other Gundam series! I've seen the ones you mentioned and I'm currently watching Gundam Unicorn. But I still have to see the first series of Gundam though.
Btw, you heard about the newest novel Gundam Wing Frozen Teardrop before? It seems popular in Japan since it continues in the After Colony era
