Alas, it's not set on a desert planet. It's set on Earth and it's not exactly the mafia like in "The Godfather", but close. The was an outwardly disaster though which caused the planet to be in it's current state. Have fun figuring out what~
Never read "Dragon's Blood" but I'll like into. I'm always up for new things to read. Can't tell you how many times I've read Tolkien. Still do though.

Heh Alabasta, nice guess but it's nothing like it. No giant crabs or kung fu dugongs. Nor like Tatooine. I can say the towns are I guess ruled by the mafia. And I have read "Dune"! It's an interesting series, more of my taste actually.
