I'm from NY and I feel you on the Mecha, There is only a few exceptions. I just can't get into um. I generally like anything with a deep enough plot or engaging story line. Some genres that I really look for are Action, slice of life, Drama, thrillers, romance, adventure. And I always love a anime that can make me laugh, comedy is always fun. I do try to explore and experience other genres, but sometimes I can't handle it and give up half way through which I really don't enjoy doing.

eh, could have been better... been laid up with the flu after a car wreck on new years. it took a car wreck to finally weaken me enough to get the flu after 20 yrs haha
