I first fell in love with anime back when I was a kid with Battle of the Planets/G-Force/Gatchaman, and I was in total awe when RoboTech debuted. I have watched so many series that I couldn't name them all even if I could remember them all! My all time favories, however, include Ranma ½, Akira, Ghost in the Shell, Sword Art Online, My Hero Academia, and the original Ah! My Goddess OAVs.
I was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, and it will forever be home to me, though I currently live outside of Chicago, Illinois. I have been a techie pretty much all my life, learned to program computers when I was 11, and currently work as a data center technician. I have also been employed as a technical support rep, developer technical support rep, and web programmer for companies big and small, from Michigan to California.
I love to read and write, particularly science fiction and fantasy, and I'm currently wondering if I could make a side career out of writing light novels. I had never thought of it before watching Eromanga Sensei late last year, but I'm thinking about giving a shot if I can.
I have studied and forgotten Japanese repeatedly over the last 30+ years, and it would be great to have a native speaker as a partner (romantically or otherwise) to practice and stay in practice with. I think it's a fascinating language, and I love to listen to it, even if I can't understand it! ^_^
If it isn't already obvious, I'm very much a nerd and a geek and I'm fine with that. It's part of who I am! I can hold conversations about Star Trek and Star Wars for hours, am a big fan of Doctor Who (10+), have a degree in the formal analysis of film, and have a ton of random and useless knowledge stuck in my head.
