ehhhhh, not if you learn romanji (sounding out the characters with the english alphabet) first, which ill admit is a touch difficult, but ultimately worth it in the end. :)

to write it, yes its the most difficult written language because of the 2000+ characters in its 3 different forms: katakana, hirugana, and kanji. basic vowel consonant pairs usually how its spoken. :)
