Thanks for the great critique. I appreciate it. You're right, I definitely was hesitant with a lot of my strokes. I think the hardest features for me to do are the eyes and the wrinkles in clothes. Her head is supposed to be slightly tilted to the lower-left; I guess I didn't do a great job of that. If I made it more obvious, do you think the eyes would be okay the way they are?
Penna @penna The biggest issue with the eyes is specifically the right eye (the eye on the left). And it's actually kind of a simple fix. That eye specifically digs below into her cheek and it's a pretty good rule of thumb that eyes are stuck above cheeks. Think of it like when you smile and you tend to squint your eyes a little bit? You feel your eyes almost "lifted" by your cheek bones right? They're kinda mounted there. Keep that in mind! If you always place your eyes on top of the cheeks, you'll find it easier to find balance. The way you draw this is keep it parallel with the top of your cheeks (it's okay if it seems angled from your other eye. Faces are not completely flat after all so when you turn your head, there will be deviation) and then use the bottom line of the eye as the top of the cheek. Curve it with the peak up ( n ) to make it seem happy or you can curve it down ( u ) to make it seem more serious.
Otherwise, the "shape" of the eye is just fine. =)
