I've always been better at communicating through the internet than real life, but I was starting to become dissatisfied with limiting my communication with others. After being fed up with the agonizing psychological pain, I decided that it was time for me to meet real people. I took a Japanese class in community college, but mainly for the purpose of finding people who have the same interests as myself. I was shy to talk to anyone at first, but as soon as I heard someone discuss one of my favorite anime titles, my mind raced with joy and I went up to that person to discuss the anime with them Also, yes I have met someone from the internet before. I used to admin a page on Facebook and she added me when I asked fans if they wanted to meet the admin of the page. I was getting friendly with her, and then I began to get attached to her. I took it to the next level and confessed to her. We had been talking on skype and facebook for over two years, and then I decided that it was time to see her face to face. She lived in the small town of Doncaster in England, and I saved up money to see her. My first day in Doncaster was a bit awkward, but I finally decided to take initiative and express my feelings for her. We went on dates, watched anime together, had intimate interactions for the first time, and we had some of the most heart-touching moments in our lives. However, because of the sheer distance between us, she eventually left me for another person from her college. Although she betrayed me, I have no regrets because I had proven to myself that I was willing to go through so many barriers and obstacles to meet people from the internet. and to answer the last question: the best thing to do when meeting in person if to not be afraid to start a conversation. Initiative is very important because nothing can be done without it. The conversation can be about anything, be it hobbies, serious matters, etc. Go out there and meet the people you want to meet, just like I have :)
