I started with gymnastics and then switched Tae Kwon Do for a while, but I dropped out to focus on my schoolwork in high school. Now I do Ki Aikido and free-style swordplay sparring. If you've ever been to an anime convention and seen those guys beating the crud out of each other with foam swords, you've probably seen a large portion of how I get my weekend workout.

Kanji is one of the four writing systems of Japanese. It's the borrowed Chinese characters that have been adapted to fit the Japanese cultural and historical understanding. One kanji can have up to twenty-four strokes and be pronounced ten different ways, depending on where it is in the sentence! I can only recognize and read a few of the more common ones.

Enough to hold a simple conversation. I'm still practicing, but I've been speaking to individuals in Japan for over a year now and they've helped me learn a lot. Kanji is what's killing me at the moment. -.-"
