DO NOT use the echo effect, instead, use Gverb on the duplicated track, turn the volume down to about -20 or so, then make some of your duplications travel around with the left, right, and center slider, Again, this would be simpler if I could show you, It may be a lot of trial and error until you can get it how you want it. You'll find that gverb sounds much cleaner than the echo effect. When I get back from my friends, i'll try to put together a sample track and possibly take a screen shot.

ah, i see Timing is hard, you have to have patience and manually drag each tiny piece where you want it. I have that trouble even with my vocal covers. I run an online chorus, imagine trying to mix 14 voices at a time. XD Also, to answer your question... I Do know how! Duplicate and cut up your tracks then use the left and right sliders. It might get monotonous after a while. It's a LOT of work, it would be easier if I could show you. I don't describe things too accurately at times. If anything, try the high and low pass filter plugins and see how they work for you. I hope I was at least on the same page. ^_^; Hope that helps, I apologize if it doesn't.
