Lynes @lynesis Yeah, after having a cheat day or eating all things you wanted to eat, you have to go back to diet to maintain your weight or try not to gain weight. Its a never ending cycle!

Hello.
Weekend went well. Normal stuff all around plus some house cleaning. Also watched a Ghibli movie (Arrietty) as someone recommended me (had seen it before but did not remember it before watching it again).
Last weeks mood pretty much calmed down as the week went on and the weekend itself just lifted it so all is good now. One thing that kept me in a positive mood and not just constant gray mood was that before the mood started I saw a movie "The Martian" which inspired me again with space themes etc. Now thinking of buying a game like Surviving Mars or something similar ^^.

How about yours? Hope the week and weekend went well.
With clothing.
Well we do have some but the traditions around them have almost died out at this point. In northern Finland we have the only traditional clothing that is still used very often which is related to the Saami people there. But it is also used by some other people for tourist attraction etc.
It's these.
https://skandihome.com/skandiblog/wp-content/uploads/sites/3/2015/01/sami-copy.jpg http://filand.weebly.com/uploads/2/5/8/4/25847884/1574186_orig.jpg
Women have the longer skirts (though I think the cloth is one full piece based on the pictures) and men wear shorter one + have that square shape in the chest/neck area. Have not used them at all as I'm from the south regions of Finland.
Saami tend to value their traditions a lot which is why these clothings have survived to the modern day.
Rest of the Finland has used other types of clothing but nowdays they are limited to special old style summer fairs and events.

Our clothing has roots to other northern countries, Russia and Germany really, because our history has been dominated by those forces.
Around the 12th century (pre-historic Finland) our clothing resembled something like this but this is a reconstruction as historical data is very limited of that time.
https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/42/Perni%C3%B6_costume_reconstruction%2C_from_12th_century_grave_-_National_Museum_of_Finland_-_DSC04198.JPG
After the 12th century a letter from the pope of that era started the recorded history of this region. Towards the half point of 13th century the times were about conversion to christianity from so called pagan beliefs, then from 13th-19th century we were under Swedish rule, from 19th-20th century we were under Russias rule as the Grand Duchy of Finland and only now for the last 100 years we have been independent as our own country.
So our history has been full of turmoil and mixed cultures in a sense from the near regions. Thus pure traditional clothings have not really persisted + due to poverty etc we really have not had the same kind of richess to the culture that eastern countries like Korea, China and Japan for example have.
Hope that answers your question :).
Kraft vas Si'yah @mkraft The below 2 example pictures might look nice looking but in reality they were very practical normal clothing for the times from which they come from so they would more likely have been quite dirty and used etc.
