All conventions are different but for the most part you have ID badges so you can come and go, and yes you need a place to stay for the how ever many days the convention is. Conventions are just a place to enjoy your fave anime's with other people, Cosplay, and buy merchandise. Some even have raves and cool person activities lol.

Yeah. I love the Japanese culture. It has such has such a rich history. But if you want anime and manga, you need to go to akihabra. Its the otaku holy land!!
